2026 SPEECH & DEBATE CAMP

When and where is camp?

Debate camp will be held 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. July 27-31 at First Baptist Church Duluth. The address is 2908 Duluth Hwy, Duluth, GA 30096.

How much does camp cost?

Camp for non-members is $75 per student. If you decide to join Dynamis for the 2026 season, that amount will be applied to your club fees.

For students who were members of Dynamis in the prior season, camp is free.

Can parents attend camp?

YES!!! We highly encourage and desire for parents to attend camp as much as your schedule will allow and learn alongside your student. If your student decides to join Dynamis and compete, YOU will play a huge role in their learning and success.

What will students learn at camp?

Students will learn the basic terminology and theory of debate, practice debate skills through games and practice rounds, begin learning about, discussing, and researching and writing a case for the year's resolution. The 2026 Team Policy resolution is: The USFG should substantially reform its agriculture policy.

Students will also have the opportunity to learn and practice public speaking skills for events like Apologetics, platform speeches, and interpretative speeches.

What will be the schedule?

We will have two tracks for camp - one for new and less experienced students and one for experienced students. The general schedule will be:

9:00-9:30     Devotional and opening activity

9:30-12:30    Split into groups for debate instruction

12:30-1:00     Lunch

1:00-3:30       Speech Workshop

3:30-5:00      Large group debate discussion, presentation or activity

On Friday, students will have the opportunity to participate in practice rounds and present work from the speech workshops. This would be a great day for parents to attend!

What will students need to bring?

Students should bring a pad of paper, preferably legal size, pens, a laptop if available (and charger!), a refillable water bottle with name clearly labeled, and a sack lunch.
