What Commitments Do Parents Need to Make?
-
Club involvement - Parents are welcome to attend class any time. You will periodically be asked to volunteer to help with activities and practice rounds in class.

-
Tournament requirements - Students compete in two tournaments each year, one in December and one in April. You or another adult must attend and be available to judge at the tournament. A tournament is not a spectator event, but we make every effort for parents to watch one of their student's rounds. A successful tournament requires the commitment of every family to contribute to judging rounds.

-
Student support
-
Listen to your student noodle through things
-
Keep the focus on the journey, not the destination
-
Practice tough love! Don’t let your kids quit. Speech and debate is hard work, and they may feel defeated at times. But the long-term benefits will be worth it. The only way to get better is by doing it!
